Tonight on The Big Bang Theory, the guys convinced Penny’s new boyfriend to enter a costume contest with them, in hopes that he would make a better Superman than Leonard did (Leonard became Green Lantern, relegating Raj to Aquaman). Penny was then roped into dressing as Wonder Woman:
Prompting Sheldon to query:
I’m sorry, but in what universe is Wonder Woman blonde?
Ultimately, Penny sported a wig for the contest, which they won:
The best exchange of the night came from Sheldon trying to convince Penny to come to the contest.
Sheldon: I understand why you’re upset.
Penny: Really?
Sheldon: Yes. You’re afraid that costume makes you look fat.
Penny: No! Wait… does it?!
Sheldon: Don’t worry. Wonder Woman was an Amazon, and Amazons tend to be very beefy gals.
Penny: Goodbye, Sheldon. (slams door)
Sheldon: But they’re not blonde, so put on your wig!!
I love The Big Bang Theory. It hits close to home a lot (I too have my own spot on the couch, and get very irked if anyone else sits in it), but it’s hilarious. AND it’s super fun to watch closely when they’re in their apartment or the comic store to try and spot comics or toys that I have. There is, perhaps not surprisingly, a great deal of crossover between my collection and that of Sheldon and Leonard.
Of course, regular Big Bang viewers will know that tonight is not the first time that Wonder Woman appeared on the show:
