A First Look At The Wonder Woman TV Show Logo

I’m not really sure what to think about David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot (READ: Tim’s trying to be polite because blogs where people harangue things all the time aren’t cool and “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”, but he’s actually quite concerned), but I do like the logo:

Thanks to Bleeding Cool, and Geoffrey Price and Andy Mangels, for the picture.  I think the logo is cool.  The font is different than anything we’ve seen on a Wonder Woman comic before, which I think is good, but it’s also fun.  Comic properties are so serious with their fonts lately, like Thor:

Or Captain America:

But this is colourful and fun, and I dig that.  I’m all about font choice, and the tone they’ve struck here suggests something slightly less serious than what we usually get with superheroes, but still cool and modern, and somewhat feminine too.

The logo bit is going with the eagle over the “W”, which I think is a decent choice.  Instead of this:

They seem to be riffing more on this:

Though with some slight changes.  They’ve included a tail, which is reminiscent of the Golden Age Wonder Woman insignia actually.  However, whenever there’s been an eagle logo, it’s always faced to Wonder Woman’s right.  This one is facing head on, as if in some sort of attack mode, which is cool.  We’re all waiting to see the costume, of course, and how the logo is going to work into it.  But as for the logo itself, I quite like it, and I like it better the more I look at it even.   It’s new and different, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing to be.
