DC’s Wonder Woman Valentine’s Day Card

As I mentioned yesterday, DC’s Young Romance: A New 52 Valentine’s Day Special #1 features Valentine’s cards that you can punch out and give to the people you love.  The book is out today, and Bleeding Cool has posted a look at all of the cards.

Some of them are amusing.  I like the “You’ve been rebooted as my valentine” New 52 card above, partly because I think it’s funny and partly because no one’s going to give anyone a “New 52” card.  There’s a Nightwing card that says “You’ve got Grayson beauty” and a Batman card that declares “Tonight is for just us”, which are kind of clever.  On the other hand, the Catwoman card goes with “You’re purr-fect” and the Flash card reads “You stole my heart in a flash.”  The Wonder Woman card calls into the latter, lamer category:

However, it does have some nice Adam Hughes art.  If memory serves, that’s a piece they used in the New 52 mural at DC’s offices, and on the cover of the New 52 Free Comic Book Day issue a couple years back.  So it’s lovely, but “You’re wonder-ful” is rather uninspired.

The best card by far is the one that features Swamp Thing:

That’s just hilarious.

Young Romance: A New 52 Valentine’s Day Special #1 is out today with a bunch of romantic stories and some fun Valentine’s cards, so check it out if only for the awesome Swamp Thing card.

  1. Nice blog for Valentines day Special Says:

I was curious if you ever considered changing the page
layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve
got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content
so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
