Women In Comics Statistics: DC And Marvel, March 2014 In Review

The new “Gendercrunching” column is up over at Bleeding Cool, and DC topped Marvel for the highest percentage of female creators yet again, though the gap is getting ever smaller.

DC Comics were at 12.5% female creators overall, and also boasted the first all-female issue we’ve seen since this project began. Marvel came in at 12.1%, but remained behind DC for the fourth straight month.

We also take a look at DC’s “Futures End” solicits for their September event month, and stack them up against DC’s last three big events. While the numbers are slightly better than we’ve seen in past years, they’re still very, very small. Progress is glacial.

Head on over to Bleeding Cool for all of the “Gendercrunching” fun, and check out their article about Marvel getting rid of the Fantastic Four while you’re at it. It seems so crazy that it just might be true.
