It’s now December, and the festive season is in full swing. You’re probably going to have to buy gifts, and soon! You’ve got family, friends, Secret Santa at work; it adds up to a lot of folks to gets presents for. Luckily, everybody loves Wonder Woman (and if they don’t then they’re probably not the sort of person you should buy presents for because they have poor taste and don’t deserve fun things). So here is a gift guide for various Wonder Woman products available now that you can go purchase for the Wonder Woman enthusiast in your life, or add to your own list to Santa:
I got this for my birthday earlier this year, and it’s really cool. And hard too! It’s not a ton of pieces, but it takes a little while to get the hang of it. It comes with instructions, and even then it’s still tricky. And very fun. I highly recommend it.
None of Wonder Woman’s mainline titles, and their subsequent collections, are terribly good, but Sensation Comics is fantastic. Both of these volumes are excellent choices, with plenty of good stories in each. And if you’re looking for stocking stuffers, single issues could be fun too. I highly recommend #5 with Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman’s fantastic Apokolips tale, James T. Tynion IV and Noelle Stevenson’s great teen Wonder Woman in #8, and a team up with Poison Ivy in #12.
This hardcover collects the first 24 issues of George Perez’s legendary Wonder Woman run that began in 1987. It’s a very nice book, and though it doesn’t have much in the ways of extras it makes up for that in terms of the sheer volume of story. It’s over 500 pages long! All of it quite enjoyable.
I love a good action figure, and this is my favourite Wonder Woman figure to come out this year. The costume is a little different, from an alternate Earth with Jae Lee’s twist on things as seen in the pages of Batman/Superman. It’s unique and kind of cool, and I’m very into it.Wonder Woman Shield Logo 24 oz. Soup Mug
“A mug?” you exclaim incredulously. “That sound so boring!” But no, it’s great! I have this mug and I use it all the time. I have oatmeal in it every morning and have enjoyed several delicious soups in it. The handle makes it handy for transporting, it’s nice and deep, and it looks cool. Get one!
Wonder Woman Shirts
One shirt you won’t find on those sides is this great new one from Topatoco and Kate Beaton. It’s “Astonishing Lady” instead of “Wonder Woman”, probably for copyright reasons, but it’s definitely Wonder Woman, just Beaton’s hilarious version thereof. I’m hoping to find this under my tree this year.
I wish this hoodie came in men’s sizes, because it’s awesome. Both sides look great, it’s got Wonder Woman up the wazoo, and it has a full zipper. I’m all about a full zip when it comes to hoodies. Cozy AND stylish is the way to roll.
If you’ve got some money burning your hole in your pocket, statues are a good way to go. I love this one designed by Robert Valley, based on his spectacular animated Wonder Woman shorts. It’s a cool, different take on Wonder Woman with a rad style.
I bought one of these for my sister for her birthday and it’s really quite nice. It’s substantive but not too big, and the quality is pretty high, especially for the price. I think the design of it is great, and it wears well.
So there you have it, tons of fun Wonder Woman options for the holiday season. Fill your stockings with Amazon fun! And while you’re shopping, perhaps considering picking up my book, Wonder Woman Unbound: The Curious History of the World’s Most Famous Heroine. It’s a fun gift for anyone interested the history of the character!
